The Space Between
The Space Between
24x30” canvas
In “The Space Between,” I explore tension, desire, and the almosts that define human connection. The four abstract, finger-like forms — each distinct in color and shape— drift in a shared space, suspended in a moment of near-touch. Two come close, almost bridging the gap, but never quite make contact.
This painting is about that charged space — not absence, but presence. The in-between can hold longing, resistance, curiosity, or peace. Whether read as emotional, spatial, or relational, the gap itself becomes the subject.
I use color and form to let ambiguity speak — allowing viewers to project their own meaning into the negative space. Is it connection delayed? Harmony in distance? The beginning of something? Or the end?
There’s energy in the almost.
